Most of what I know came from practise, not theory. I’ve navigated the dead ends and distractions of early startups, and want to help bypass the noise to focus on solving challenges that actually matter.
This is my journey.
Rease
CTO & iOS Developer
I oversee the technical direction of Australia’s leading rental marketplace across iOS, Android, backend, and web platforms. I support more than 10,000 active users by guiding a 20+ person team in delivering a fast-growing, consumer-focused product.
-
I am a hands-on CTO managing entire technical ecosystem including mobile, web, backend, DevOps, and architecture. My role involves leading the product roadmap and managing an engineering team in developing a scalable product that continues to meet customer requirements and business goals.
-
I architected the Rewards, Referrals, Verification, Messaging, and core marketplace systems and implemented them on iOS. I designed and constructed the Web application using industry-standard Vue and React technologies, and managed cloud infrastructure via AWS EC2, RDS, S3, and Firebase.
-
I learned how to scale a product in response to real-world user demand and how to manage cross-functional teams by balancing technical judgment with product strategy. I now have the skills to make quick, fact-based decisions in a rapidly changing early-stage environment.
Dinner Party
CTO & Co-Founder
Dinner Party is a social dining platform I built from the ground up and continue to evolve. It’s where I learned the realities of building an early-stage product with limited resources, and how to validate ideas quickly without overengineering.
-
As Co-Founder & CTO, I was responsible for the product from top to bottom. In addition to the technical side, I was heavily invested in product strategy, guerrilla marketing and social media to foster adoption. I couldn’t be a typical engineer - I had to adapt to succeed.
-
I built the entire stack personally - utilising Swift, AWS Lambda and Docker for overall product UX, including brand, onboarding, and major user flows. The service is currently running, with development continuing to extend to Android with React Native for cross-platform growth.
-
Dinner Party forced me to get my hands dirty with marketing, budgets, and the small details that keep a business thriving. I learnt how to validate your idea before scaling, how to maximise impact on a limited budget, as well as learning how to critically evaluate business models, businesses, and investor perspectives.
Sydney Robotics Academy
Marketing Coordinator & Coding Instructor
I managed a small team of 15+ to expand the web application for the academy using React, Node.js, and several other technologies. In conjunction with development, I orchestrated tertiary-level educational curricula on languages including Python, HTML & CSS, and JavaScript. I was also responsible for executing marketing strategy - placing emphasis on B2B outreach and increasing the number of partnerships threefold in my tenure.
Timeless Memory Solutions
Founder
I developed an AI-powered media enhancement web application for digitising and restoring analogue media. The platform used a Django-based EC2 implementation with Topaz AI and LangChain integrations. I was responsible for the overall architecture, product, brand positioning, and initial validation of the product.
